EISCD - Extended Industry Sorting Code Directory

IMPORTANT: From 1 January 2012 Bacs Service Users are required to update their EISCD data on a monthly basis as a minimum.


The Extended ISCD - Industry Sort Code Directory is the definitive UK bank branch and building society database.

This sort code directory is maintained centrally by VocaLink (formerly Bacs) on behalf of the UK payments industry and it contains information about every bank branch in the UK.

Bank branch - contact details - clearing information

The EISCD sort code directory contains comprehensive sort code data including contact information such as branch address, telephone and fax number.

It also contains important clearing information, for example, whether or not a bank can accept Direct Debit and Bacs credits and whether a bank supports the Faster Payments service.

Further clearing information is valuable including CHAPS Sterling, CHAPS Euro and Cheque + Credit Clearing Company.
