The Extended ISCD - Industry Sort Code Directory is the definitive UK bank branch and building society database.
This sort code database is maintained centrally by VocaLink (formerly BACS) on behalf of the UK payments industry and it contains information about every bank branch in the UK.
The EISCD sort code database contains comprehensive sort code data including contact information such as branch address, telephone and fax number.
It also contains important clearing information, for example, whether or not a bank can accept direct debits and direct credits and whether a bank supports the new Faster Payments network.
This clearing information is valuable to an organisation that uses any of the UK clearing systems, i.e. BACS, CHAPS Sterling and CHAPS Euro and Cheque + Credit Clearing Company.
The EISCD Industry Sorting Code Directory is available in a choice of file formats:
XML, tab delimited TEXT and SAP ready (i.e. prepared for use by SAP standard import program).
